Oregon at Washington
Congrats, Isabelle Auty
Congrats, Isabelle, and thanks for being you; someone thought you were pretty great and we do too!
Isabelle was nominated by her principal, who is impressed with her as the sole PE teacher for the entire elementary school. That’s K-5th grade in Seattle.
Eckrich, in partnership with Extra Yard for Teachers & our valued retail partners, is giving teachers the chance to win $1 Million to fund local classroom projects! Isabelle from Seattle was on the field at the Oregon at Washington on November 6 for her big chance.
Isabelle scored $2,500 to fund classroom projects! She also walked away with $500 worth of groceries courtesy of our partner, Albertsons.
“Teaching runs in the family with both my parents as (retired) educators. As a teacher’s kid, the school is your second home; getting there extra early and staying late just so they can prepare. Another aspect of my life was sports. I was mediocre at best. But the enjoyment and happiness each practice, game, and meet would fill me with, I knew I had to find a way spread the love! My dad was a PE teacher for 30+ years and he made sure I knew you didn’t have to be first place to have a good time. With the research and science behind the connection of physical activity and academic achievement, teaching PE is the BEST subject of them all!” says Isabelle. Congratulations again, Isabelle, and thanks to you and all the other teachers in America - the real MVPs!
