Penn State University vs. Ohio State University

Out of 361 applications, Jenn Sporer, a Gifted Enrichment teacher from Rock L. Butler Elementary School,was selected to have a chance to throw for the Eckrich $1 Million Challenge for Teachers. She was able to throw during the Penn State University vs. Ohio State University game on October 29, 2022.

She was nominated by her student Fen who shares her competitive nature and love for both school and academics. She said about teaching that she “love(s) teaching new skills, life lessons, self-advocacy, and stretching the minds of youth both in the classroom and as a coach.” She noted that her school is in a rather rural area and that she is always looking to help students engage in experiences they may not otherwise have the opportunity to do. With her winnings, she hopes to help provide career exploration for students with a specific focus in STEM. They are looking to provide hands-on experience to students by purchasing 3D printers for all buildings.
