University of Kentucky vs. University of South Carolina

Out of 251 applications, Chris Ray, a bible studies teacher from Lexington Christian Academy, was selected to have a chance to throw for the Eckrich $1 Million Challenge for Teachers. He was chosen to participate in the throw during the University of Kentucky vs. University of South Carolina game on October 8, 2022.

He was nominated by several of his 8th-grade students. He likes to believe that they enjoy the relational approach he takes to the classroom, as he truly wants to get to know who they are and build positive relationships in the classroom. He said he loves “to see students gain new understanding and connections they haven’t previously made.” With his winnings, he would like to help improve the technology at his school.
