University of Miami vs. Florida State University

Out of 822 applications, Tricia Wolfe, an ESE teacher from Thurgood Marshall Elementary School,was selected to have a chance to throw for the Eckrich $1 Million Challenge for Teachers. She was able to throw duringthe University of Miami vs. Florida State University Game on November 5, 2022.

She was nominated by her sister, Carlene, who is a guidance counselor at another school. She became a teacher after feeling inspired by seeing her sister with students. In her own words, she “realized how important and special both teachers and students were to each other.” With her winnings she plans to help expand classroom supplies as well as help with Afterschool tutoring opportunities for struggling students.
