University of Tennessee vs. University of Alabama

Out of 454 applications, Tim Miller, a PE teacher from Lake City Middle school, was selected to have a chance to throw for the Eckrich $1 Million Challenge for Teachers. He was chosen to throw during the University of Tennessee vs. University of Alabama game on October 15, 2022.

He was nominated by his colleague as they are both huge Vol fans!!! He is a 7th grade Social Studies teacher who has a heart of gold and is a truly passionate teacher. He said about teaching that “education is the great equalizer, giving anyone from every background an opportunity to succeed in life. Being a part of a child’s life and helping them achieve their goals is what drew [him] to the field.” He noted that East Tennessee has a deep history in science and technology. With his winnings, he would like to provide resources to bolster programs in these fields and would continue to grow the reputation of the area. Other programs to consider are the health and nutritional habits of our youth to grow and foster healthy habits.
