University of Pittsburgh vs. University of North Carolina

Janeen Landry, who is a Spanish teacher at Beaver Area Middle & High School, was selected to have a chance to throw for the Eckrich $1 Million Throw for Teachers. She was chosen to participate in the throw during the University of Pittsburgh vs. University of North Carolina game on September 23, 2023. She was nominated by her husband who wanted to celebrate her dedication to her students and the countless hours she spends after work continuing to prioritize her students’ education. Monica feels that education is underfunded and wants to contribute these funds for more hands-on learning activities and fine arts to encourage creativity and out of the box thinking. Congratulations to Monica for securing funds to help her local community!
